What is Aptis?
Aptis is developed by British Council experts and trusted by government institutions and organisations, in over 85 countries, for validating and raising the standards of English.
With Aptis you can:
- assess the English language skills of your employees, teachers and students and benchmark them against the Common European Framework of Reference for languages (CEFR).
- get an accurate assessment of individuals that need to meet a certain English language level requirement.

- ensure the readiness of students to study in English-taught programmes

How to take Aptis
Aptis is a computer based test which provides fast results.
You can choose to test one or more of the four language skills (speaking, writing, listening, reading), depending on your needs. Each test includes a mandatory grammar and vocabulary module as an additional guarantee to the accuracy of the CEFR levels for each skill.
- Grammar and Vocabulary: 25 minutes
- Listening: 40 minutes
- Reading: 35 minutes
- Writing: 50 minutes
- Speaking: 12 minutes

You can access exercises for all parts of the test and check your answers.
Registration
You should register online at least 3 days before the exam date. Payment can be
made online by card at the time of registration, or via bank transfer to the account
number of the Centre for Foreign Languages, 300000000622776 in Komercijalna
banka, with the reference: for the Aptis exam (and exam date) within 2 days of the
registration and at least 2 days before the test date.
Exams are scheduled during the
morning. You will receive detailed information about the exact time via email one day
before the exam. The test is administered at the premises of the Center for Foreign
Languages - Skopje.
Results
If you do not take the writing and/or speaking test, you will receive your results within
24 hours. If your selection includes writing and/or speaking, results will be available
within 2 working days.
Please note that the deadline for issuing results may be extended due to technical
issues beyond our control.
The tests are entirely marked by the British Council team, and the Centre for Foreign
Languages - Skopje has no influence over the process. There is no possibility for
test takers to review the test, nor can a re-evaluation of the test be requested.
If you lose your original certificate, you can request a new one within 3 years from the day of taking the exam.
